Scot Seats launch new Troop carrying seating

A recent project has prompted the development of a seating system which has been created from Scot Seats flip up seating range.

Scot Seats produce many types of flip-up seats but their involvement in a special military vessel project recently has meant they have modified the designs specially for troop carrying.  Flip-up seats are regularly used as crew seats in confined areas for occasional seating in cabins, for various control units or even in hyperbaric chambers and lifeboats.
The project this has been designed for is a vessel called THOR (Twin Hulled Offshore Raider) which has been designed and built by long term client of Scot Seats, CTruk.  The vessel incorporates a range of high-tech equipment provided through the CTruk Collaborative Amphibious Project (CTruk CAP): a consortium of companies who have joined forces to compete in a market dominated by larger corporations and Scot Seats are providing the specialist seating.

The seats are manufactured from lightweight aluminium and stainless steel with a powder coated finish and MITIGATOR shock absorbent foam in the seat to further reduce the impact of vibration.  The seats can also be fitted with lap safety belts.  When not in use they tuck close to the bulkhead so that the space inside the vessel is optimised when not carrying troops as well as making entering or exiting the craft easy.

In addition to the troop carrying seats, the CTruk THOR vessel is equipped with 4 x S2 Helmsman shock mitigation seats with controls built into the arms for the coxswain, navigator and 2 supporting crew for gun or camera type operations.

The THOR vessel will be on display at DSEI giving waterborne displays as well as being available for client demonstrations.
